In the shadow of the ongoing debate in the country over the decision whether to vaccinate children against Corona, even in Hollywood the winds are stormy.
Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, who has previously expressed interest in running for governor of Texas, declares in an interview that he is against forcing corona vaccines on children.
"I could not support forcing vaccines on young children," the actor said in an interview with the New York Times.
McConaughey came out against the dichotomous division between vaccines and the right to freedom of choice in the charged and ongoing debate over the issue of corona vaccines, but added that he wanted more information on the subject.
"I'm not anti-vaccine, I'm in favor of the right to vote," he said.
"I am vaccinated, my wife is vaccinated, days in the risk group are vaccinated 3 times, but I did not do it because someone told me I had to. I chose," he added.
Although he and his wife are vaccinated as stated, McConaughey, 52, refuses to vaccinate his three children, ages 13, 11 and 8, until he has enough information.
"Do I believe there is any fraud or conspiracy? Absolutely not," he said.
"These are scientists trying to do the right thing. This split has a crippling effect."
