The transfer of a Kfir plane from the Air Force Museum in the premises to Kibbutz Ein Harod Ihud ended this morning (Wednesday).
This is an operation planned for several years by 87-year-old Yishai Zimmerman, a member of Ein Harod Ihud and a descendant of the mythological elite unit, unit 101.
A few years ago he came up with the idea of placing a plane in a kibbutz as a tribute to the ten pilots who left Ein Harod Ihud. .
Zimmerman, a retired major, is the father and grandfather of Air Force pilots;
His son, granddaughter and grandson are pilots.
Two years ago, Zimmerman applied to the commander of the Air Force, Major General Amiram Nurkin, for a plane, and his request was granted.
It was decided that a Kfir plane would be transferred from the Air Force Museum to Ein Harod.
Zimmerman received the farm's approval to place the plane near the kibbutz apiary and raised the amount of money required to finance the plane transfer operation.

Zimmerman himself has a civilian pilot's license, which he used during the Second Lebanon War, when he boarded a light aircraft in Beirut without a permit and flew with it to Israel.
For this act he was tried and served a prison sentence in a military prison.
Until a few years ago, he himself was still in the reserve as a truck driver, but this time he recruited a friend from the neighboring kibbutz, Beit Hashita - Moshe Peled, a colonel in the reserve and a former deputy minister who still serves in the reserve as a truck driver and tank leader. arrived in the valley and set the plane near the hive kibbutz.
"determination 101 still beats," said Moshe Har-Zion father, Meir Har-Zion, was a childhood friend of Zimmerman and the two served alongside each unit 101. Peled, the young driver is Yu Rabbi of the Association for the Commemoration of Meir Har-Zion and His Work.

Zimmerman, has already gotten up after four hours of sleep and is waiting for the crane driver to wake up as well and then place the plane on the pedestal prepared for him.
"It was not an easy operation," he said, thanking Moshe Peled, who said that he "volunteered to be the transport manager and did it properly and accurately."
He said that there were voices that expressed wonder why Ein Harod was given a plane and said that in his opinion a criterion of several pilots should be set for every hundred residents living in the settlement and according to this criterion to approve the placement of a plane.
Ein Harod, he says, will meet the criteria and may even be the leading settlement
