When you see him in the media again in the fighter jet: He already has the urge to pose in a big way - something American.

Yesterday he tweeted a thank you for 15 years in Nockherberg and spoke of “Bavarian art in top form”.

And of course I was really happy about the praise.

What made you quit?

That you were too identified with this role?

I never played it in my cabaret programs or on television.

The role as Söder has not really settled in, it has only always received a lot of attention around the strong beer tap - but it was quickly over.

In the past there was not infrequently a quarrel behind the scenes of the Nockherberg - but it doesn't make that impression on you.

I wish I could say something more spectacular, but I get on wonderfully with the Singspiel people, including Paulaner, so I can congratulate my successor.

But after 15 years I have come to the decision that now it’s enough.

What was your favorite Söder scene?

There were so many.

“O Söder mio!” Was really funny to sing. At that time the role was actually quite small.

I also enjoyed being a samurai in the world of knights.

You are a very good singer and have shaped your role.

I could really let off steam musically, the Nockherberg was perfect: so many genres, such a cool band.

The Nockherberg team is working again on the next Singspiel - if it can take place due to Corona.

I actually wanted to present my new cabaret program in autumn, but have postponed it until next summer due to the pandemic - I'm currently rewriting it.

There will be a lot of blues songs.

I am also filming a new "police call".
