The custody of two people arrested Monday, November 8 after a knife attack on a crew of police officers in Cannes by an Algerian national were lifted Tuesday evening, we learned Wednesday from the Grasse prosecutor's office.

Two police custody were lifted last night (Tuesday, editor's note) and two continue,
” the
prosecutor's
office told AFP without further clarification. On Tuesday, police sources had indicated that three people from the assailant's entourage were in police custody. "
One of the people worked for him and another housed him,
" said one of these police sources, specifying that the assailant owned "
a small masonry business
".
Another police source had mentioned "
a roommate, a landlord and an ex-landlord
".
According to a source close to the file, a fourth person was arrested Tuesday morning in Châtellerault by the judicial police of Limoges and placed in police custody.

" of the attacker, according to this source, who did not give more details.
Attacked in front of the police station
Monday at 6.30 a.m., a 37-year-old Algerian stabbed two of the four police officers present in a police vehicle in front of the Cannes police station.
They were not injured, protected by their bulletproof vests.
The crew was about to go on patrol when they were attacked.
The attacker, suffering from two bullets in the pelvis but whose vital prognosis is not engaged, underwent a first surgery on Monday and a second on Tuesday.
