In support of the national industry and the recycle of industrial production, President Bashar al-Assad issued a law exempting imported raw materials as inputs to the local industry and subject to a 1% customs fee from the customs duties specified in the customs tariff schedule, as well as exempting them from taxes and other fees imposed on import.
Below is the text of the law:
Law No. (30)
President of the Republic
Based on the provisions of the Constitution
And on what was approved by the People’s Assembly in its session held on 3/15/1443 AH corresponding to 10/21/2021 CE;
It issues the following:
Article -1- Raw materials imported as inputs to the local industry and subject to a customs duty of 1 percent and one percent of the customs duties specified in the customs tariff table issued by Decree No. 377 of 2014, are also exempted from all other taxes and fees imposed on import.
Article - 2 - The directorates of economy and foreign trade issue the necessary import licenses and approvals for the materials mentioned in Article No. 1 of this law in a manner that does not conflict with the grant mechanism approved by the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade.
Article 3 - The provisions of this law shall be applied for a period of one year from the date of its entry into force.
Article 4 - The executive instructions for this law are issued by a decision of the Minister of Finance in coordination with the Ministry of Industry, Economy, Foreign Trade, Internal Trade and Consumer Protection.
Article -5- This law shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall be considered effective from the beginning of the month following the date of its publication.
