According to reports today (Wednesday), Steven Gerrard - the Glasgow Rangers coach - will sign at Aston Villa and replace Dean Smith in the role.
Last Sunday, Smith was sacked by Villa after five consecutive league losses.
The club's leaders want to see Gerard on the lines and he is open to returning to the Premier League - this time as a coach.
The Scots are currently saying no contact has been made with them regarding the English coach, but according to all reports, matters will be closed in the next two days.
"Stevie G" last season led the Rangers to a first championship after a decade and the Scots would surely have been happy to keep him with them, but refusing an offer from the Premier League is not a simple matter, certainly not for one of the best ties in English history.
