Six killed in bus-truck collision in western India

New Delhi, SANA- Six people were killed and others were injured in a passenger bus collision with a truck in the western state of Rajasthan.

Six people were killed and several others injured when a passenger bus collided with a truck in the western Indian state of Rajasthan today.

Xinhua news agency quoted local authorities as saying in a statement that a passenger bus collided with a truck in Barmer district, about 535 km west of Jaipur, the state capital, killing six people and injuring others, while rescue teams were continuing their work at the site of the accident.

It is noteworthy that fatal road accidents are common in India and are often caused by overloading, poor road conditions and reckless driving. About 150,000 people die annually as a result of nearly half a million road accidents across India.
