Nur-Sultan-Sana
Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Mukhtar Taluberdi announced today that a meeting of foreign ministers of the guarantor states of the Astana talks on Syria, namely Russia, Turkey and Iran, may be held next month.
"We are waiting for all participants to confirm their readiness to attend in mid-December," the Kazakh minister said. "We sent an invitation and we agreed on the format, but the issues on the agenda were not approved."
It held 16 international meetings in the Astana format, the last of which was last July in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, where the guarantor states of the Astana process reiterated their strong commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, and to the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, stressing the continuation of joint action to combat terrorism in all its forms and labels in Syria and rejecting agendas separatism aimed at undermining its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
