The Attenkirchen councilors have spoken out in favor of the GigaNetz company taking over the fiber optic expansion.

Now the other VG municipalities have to join in.

Attenkirchen

- Martin Marks' advertising tour continued on Monday: After he presented Deutsche GigaNetz GmbH's offer for the self-commercial expansion of a gigabit-capable fiber optic infrastructure for the four communities of VG Zolling on October 27 in the Zollinger Bürgerhaus (we reported), he was now a guest in the Attenkirchen municipal council to convince the councils of the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with GigaNetz.

With success: Mayor Mathias Kern was unanimously authorized to conclude such an agreement.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Before Marks presented in a somewhat abbreviated form everything that he had already explained at the information event at the end of October, Kern explained the basic advantages of the GigaNetz GmbH offer: If the company takes action, you can get a fiber optic network faster than using a state-owned network Support measures.

And above all, the municipality does not have a financial contribution to the measure.

The prerequisite is, of course, that on the one hand all four member communities of the administrative community participate and on the other hand that 40 percent of the households declare that they are ready to conclude a contract with GigaNetz which initially runs for two years.

Either way: "This is a decision for the future," said Kern.

"40 percent is a very high hurdle"

After Marks' lecture, Sepp Fischer (UWG) stated: "40 percent is a very high hurdle" and he is skeptical whether this can be achieved.

Marks replied that if the acceptance rate was below 20 percent in the entire area, it was "through".

Otherwise, it is entirely possible to exclude some districts in order to achieve the 40 percent quota for the other areas.

Walter Schlott (GoL) hadn't really caught fire yet.

On the one hand, it "pains" him that you don't reap the returns yourself, but give it away, and on the other hand, he still has a stomachache when he imagines walking around now and promoting a company "that I don't know" to the public. .

Hermann Lachner (BG), on the other hand, said that everything sounds "reasonable".

Kern also stated: "There is not much that speaks against it."

In the end, the local council voted unanimously in favor of enabling GigaNetz to expand on its own, to carry out customer acquisition and to conclude a cooperation agreement, in which one or the other point such as the explanation of the laying method for the cables or specific services would have to be included.

Now the other three municipalities of the VG - Zolling, Haag and Wolfersdorf - have to agree, then the advertising machinery of GigaNetz GmbH starts up.
