Travel to the West Indies: more direct flights between Pointe-à-Pitre and Bordeaux, Lyon or Nantes

From December, Guadeloupe will be directly connected to major metropolitan cities. The offer will also be reinforced between the island and New York or Montreal.


Several weeks after the lifting of restrictions linked to Covid-19, Guadeloupe is preparing for the high tourist season with optimism.

Airlines are preparing to ramp up to take the French to the West Indies this winter. Good news for the inhabitants of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: from mid-December 2021 to the end of March 2022,

Corsair

will allow them to reach Pointe-à-Pitre without going through Paris. The line from Lyon will be launched on December 17 (a weekly flight on Friday, from € 495 round trip). From Bordeaux, it will be inaugurated on December 19 (a weekly flight on Sunday, from € 484 round trip). Note that Guadeloupe is already served by direct flight from Nantes. Trips scheduled until March 31, 2022 may be postponed or canceled free of charge.

Residents of northern France, for their part, will be able to take advantage of the link between Brussels-Charleroi and Pointe-à-Pitre, which will be re-established on December 3 by

Air Belgium

(then on December 4 to Martinique).

Two round trips will be operated per week on each of these routes (from 404 €).

Air France connects Guadeloupe to New York and Montreal

For its part,

Air France

has been offering flights to the French Antilles from Paris-Charles de Gaulle since last December, in addition to flights from Paris Orly. In all, three daily round trips are provided to and from the capital with Boeing 777-300s, the most capable aircraft in its fleet, whose cabins have just been renovated. From Pointe-à-Pitre, Air France will connect Montreal from November 23 (two flights per week) and New York JFK from November 24 (two flights per week), routes until now operated by companies American and Canadian. The company offers free exchange and cancellation of all tickets until June 30, 2022.

offer up to 21 flights per week this winter between Paris-Orly and Pointe-à-Pitre with a call price of € 413 round trip.

Towards the West Indies, the offer will be similar to that of winter 2019 in terms of frequency and greater in capacity thanks to the deployment of new A350-1000s, which have more seats than the A350-900s (429 against 389)
