At 5 o'clock in the afternoon today (10th), a truck was driving along the Tu-Tai Po Highway towards Kowloon. When it was near the racecourse, it was suspected of losing control and crashing into the fence. The front of the truck was severely damaged.
Several drivers saw the case and called the police. The truck driver suffered head injuries and was sent to hospital by ambulance. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The Transport Department announced that due to a traffic accident, the slow lane of the Tai Po Highway-Sha Tin section (toward Kowloon) near Sha Tin Racecourse was closed.
Motorists can only use the remaining traffic lanes.
There is currently traffic congestion at the site.
