District - Those who work in the roofing trade in the Starnberg district now have more money.
Specialists have been paid an hourly wage of 19.52 euros since October - an increase of 2.1 percent.
This means that a roofer journeyman has almost 70 euros more on the pay slip at the end of the month, as the industrial union Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt reports.
Michael Müller, district chairman of IG BAU Oberbayern, speaks of a "deserved plus" and advises employees in the region not to be satisfied with the significantly lower industry minimum wage of 14.10 euros. “Many roofing companies are desperately looking for staff. No skilled worker should sell himself below value and therefore insist on the collective wage, ”said the unionist. Union members whose company is a member of the employers' guild are entitled to collectively agreed pay. According to the employment agency, the roofing trade in the Starnberg district currently has around 90 employees.
The IG BAU also refers to the good economic situation in the craft.
“Driven by the construction boom and the high demand for new, climate-friendly roofs, the order books of many companies are overflowing.
The master roofers are well advised to pay their employees fairly and keep them in the company, ”emphasizes Müller.
