"Stabbed her in the back while praying in the living room": A resident of Beit Shemesh is accused of murdering his mother

The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment in the Jerusalem District Court today (Thursday) against Shimon Stern, a resident of Beit Shemesh, for the murder of his mother, Tamara Masandilov, at her home in the city about three weeks ago.

Stern is hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital for observation, and has yet to be determined if he is fit to stand trial.

"In the morning, while Sandilov was praying in the living room of her home, her son approached her with a knife he had taken from the kitchen, and stabbed her in the back and body," the indictment said.

"Stern continued to stab his mother many times, even when she fell to the floor and bled. At the time of the murder, Stern's younger brother was in the living room, and his sisters were in the apartment and called the police."
