A 30-year-old man was killed last night (Friday) in Be'er Sheva by a grenade that exploded in his hand.
MDA staff arrived at the scene of the incident, Steinberg Street in the city, and after resuscitation attempts determined the man's death. Police opened an investigation to determine the background and circumstances of the incident.
A senior MDA medic, Adir Bitan, said: "I live nearby "I ran to the scene, I saw a 30-year-old man lying unconscious, he suffered a severe multi-systemic injury, we provided him with medical treatment and performed advanced and prolonged operations, at the end of which we had to determine his death."

Last month, dozens of people demonstrated in the city of Be'er Sheva against the crime and violence raging in the southern region, under the headline "The Negev is Bleeding: Civilian Protest," calling for the return of security to the region.
The demonstration came in the wake of data showing that nearly a quarter of the country’s violent offenses take place in the south, and that last year more investigations were opened in the district than in any other district.
