A senior naval officer warned today (Thursday) of Iran's establishment in the naval arena, in the context of the Israeli navy's joint exercise with foreign armies, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
"The threat of Iranian establishment in the region is also a threat in the maritime aspect, and needs to be prepared for. In the sea area, the Iranians are quite independent," he said.
According to the senior official, strengthening international cooperation is an important way of removing the Iranian establishment.
"The partnership with the Americans is an important partnership," he explained.
"This exercise is part of a work plan facing the Iranian establishment along with the Americans."
"This is the first time the UAE is sending us their forces to practice, so it's offensive training."
The officer declined to specify which tools participated in the exercise, and in his words - "If the Americans want to publish they will publish."
As part of strengthening cooperation between the countries, the Navy is anticipating further joint exercises in the future.
"We intend to do additional exercises in the naval arena with the Marines," he said.
"We practice both in Aqaba Bay and in the Red Sea. The work program with them began in September, so we had another exercise with them."

The officer added that at sea "it is more convenient to cooperate. It is far from the eye, you do not see it far from land, it happens in the ground that is not within the space and it allows more. I think in some places it will open more doors for us."
The officer expressed hope for continued practice with Bahrain and the UAE: "These are the countries with which we have a common enemy. We need to distance Iranian establishment and this threat is shared by other countries in the region. It needs to be dismantled in the face of threats and interests." At this stage there is no combination of submarines in the exercise and live firing but it is possible that the underwater tools will be integrated later.
The US envoy to Iran, Rob Mali, will visit Israel next week - for the first time since taking office.
During the visit, he is expected to meet with Defense Minister Bnei Gantz, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and National Security Adviser Eyal Hulta, ahead of the resumption of nuclear talks with Iran in Vienna.
In the coming days, Mali will also visit the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and discuss with senior officials in these countries preparations for the resumption of nuclear talks and Iranian activity in the region.
