The expanded meeting held by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Kinan Yaghi, today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of Homs Governorate, with stakeholders in the finance sector focused on taxes, financing needs, and the reality of money changers' work.

In a statement to reporters after the meeting, Minister Yaghi indicated that the aim of the meeting was to correct the relationship between economic activities in Homs and the Ministry of Finance, stressing the ministry's readiness to find solutions to all problems, whether administrative or financing.

Regarding the problem of ATMs, Yaghi pointed out that it is represented by the banking work and the infrastructure of the ATMs, from interruptions in electricity and the Internet, which affects their work, in addition to the problem of obsolescence of ATMs due to the unilateral measures imposed on the Syrian people and the difficulty of securing maintenance parts.

He pointed out that the pensioners' salaries will soon be received through the "Your Salary for Your Home" service, pointing out that work is currently being done in partnership with several parties to establish an accurate billing system that leads to the safety of pricing and adjusting the profit margin and prices.

Yaghi explained that the legal system regulating taxes and fees will be amended during the next stage, as the ministry has drafts of the sales tax law and the unified income tax law, which will end many financial entanglements to move to another place of the tax system that is easier and more transparent for the taxpayer and the tax administration.

In turn, the Governor of Homs, Engineer Bassam Parsik, stated that the meeting touched on the issues that are being worked on in the Ministry of Finance, which it is necessary to shed light on, and all that was mentioned today was with the aim of reducing the burdens on citizens, businessmen, industrialists and state employees.

Labib Al-Ikhwan, head of the Homs Chamber of Industry, pointed to the need to reform the tax system in accordance with the trends of modern tax thought, in line with economic developments and developments. Imports, shop owners, tax exemptions and tax law.

Fadi Issa, director of the border post office, pointed out the importance of allocating an independent budget to the border posts, restructuring them, increasing the allocations of diesel to the secretariat of the detainee, and providing the center with forklifts, pointing to the need for coordination between the Customs Directorate and the management of border posts to grant approvals and licenses.

Mohamed Khaddour, head of the Central Region Chamber of Tourism, pointed out the importance of studying the tax assignment for tourist offices, clarifying the segments that are dealt with with the tourism office, and the need to address the problem of not completing financial contracts with regard to restaurants and finding equitable solutions in this regard.

Samir Al-Droubi, a member of the Executive Office of the Banking Sector in the governorate, pointed out a number of difficulties, including the insufficiency of appropriations noted in the approved budgets to meet the needs of the directorates and administrative units to carry out their tasks in an optimal manner, and the lack of sufficient funds to disburse the value of the price differences for the implemented projects.
