Russia's ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, announced that the United States' plans to supply weapons to Kiev would worsen the situation in southeastern Ukraine.
"The plans to supply the Kiev regime with weapons will only aggravate the situation in southeastern Ukraine," Antonov said in statements published today on the embassy's page on the social networking site Facebook, after US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
He described the new Strategic Partnership Charter between the United States and Ukraine as a set of "harmful slogans intended to inflame the situation."
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier that the United States and European Union countries paid the costs of training neo-Nazis in Ukraine with taxpayer money, and this is unacceptable and very dangerous.
