Penzberg - The Catholic youth in Penzberg has come up with something new: There is the “Do something!” Campaign.
Start is with a clean thing
Britta Bachus, youth officer of the parish Christkönig, and her team of youth leaders have actually offered weekly hours for children.
But the response came to a standstill: "That has no longer proven itself," says Bachus, referring to the number of participants and logistical difficulties, especially for the parents.
So an idea came up: “We're doing something new,” reports youth leader Moritz Volk.
Once a month, for two hours in the Christkönig parish center: “It's easier and less binding for families,” adds the youth officer.
Every second Sunday of the month there is now the “Do something!” Campaign.
Various topics are being considered for participants between the ages of nine and 14.
The start is this Sunday (November 14th) tinkering with glycerine soaps.

“Do something!” Takes place on Sunday (November 14th) from 2pm to 4pm in the youth rooms of the Christkönig parish center in Penzberg.

Gingerbread houses in December
The soaps can be heated and poured into creative shapes.
"You can do the most varied of variants," advertises Bachus.
Those responsible had already tried the action with success at the summer camp in Jachenau.
The team hopes the alternative will be well received.
Because the regular meetings are simply missing.
“The group lessons go off,” says youth leader Hannes Lenk.
The offer is long-term, explains youth officer Bachus.
There should be a new campaign every month.
The theme for December is: Gingerbread houses are being tinkered - in keeping with the Christmas season.
