Colombian President Iván Duque points out that FARC dissident Iván Márquez is in Venezuela.
Questioned President Nicolás Maduro said in August 2019 that his country welcomed Iván Márquez.
However, the Maduro government has not officially confirmed Márquez's presence in its territory.
In an interview with José Levy of CNN en Español, Duque says that the FARC dissidents are "those who are behind the greatest number of murders of those who were in the process of demobilization" and "have assassinated social leaders."
According to the NGO Indepaz, 1,000 social leaders and human rights defenders were assassinated in Colombia between 2016 and 2020 and that until August of this year, more than 100 social leaders were added to the list of deaths.
