The US Department of Homeland Security has reached an agreement for the spouses of H and L-1 visa holders to have an automatic 180-day extension while they await processing of their employment authorization applications.
According to the American Immigration Lawyers Association, these benefits cover those with H-4 and L-2 nonimmigrant visas.
