Damascus University and Malik Al-Ashtar Technical University in the Iranian capital, Tehran, signed today a memorandum of understanding in the field of research and graduate studies, provided that they have great cooperation in the fields of industries, technical sciences, mechanics, robotics and computer science.
The memorandum was signed on the Syrian side by Dr. Muhammad Yasar Abdeen, President of Damascus University, and on the Iranian side, Dr. Qassem Taqizadeh, President of Malek Al-Ashtar University, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, the Syrian Ambassador in Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Diop, and the head of public and cultural relations in the ministry, Dr. Aqil Mahfoud.
Minister Ibrahim stressed, in a statement, the importance of benefiting from the scientific and research capabilities of Malik Al-Ashtar University, using them, and linking them on the ground to industrial and production projects.
For his part, Dr. Taqizadeh affirmed full readiness to cooperate with Syrian universities in the field of research and graduate studies.
Minister Ibrahim and the accompanying delegation toured the research products exhibition at the university and were briefed on the university’s latest achievements and results in scientific research. And scientific research touring the exhibition of the university contains the latest scientific research.
