The popular Mexican actress Carmen Salinas was admitted to a Mexico City hospital this Thursday after suffering a stroke, her family confirmed to CNN.
Gustavo Briones, Salinas's nephew, said that the 82-year-old actress and producer is in a natural coma and that her health is serious, although stable.
He indicated that he is connected to an artificial respirator, without offering more details.
“Last night he came from work, had dinner, watched his soap opera and went to bathe.
When it took longer than it should have, the employees who assist her realized that my aunt was on the ground fainted and notified the family, ”Briones said in a brief telephone interview.
Earlier, the Salinas family reported that the actress was hospitalized, in a statement published on their social networks.
"The Salinas family shares with them that the leading actress, Mrs. Carmen Salinas, is going through a difficult health situation, which is why she remains in the intensive care area where specialist doctors treat her," reported her relatives in the message.

Hours before her hospitalization, Carmen Salinas had publicized the telenovela “My fortune is loving you” on Facebook and Twitter, in which she currently participates.
Originally from the northern state of Coahuila, Salinas entered the entertainment world at a very young age.
His character as "La Corcholata" in films such as "Bellas de noche" and "La pulquería" made him gain great popularity in Mexico.
Televisa's list of soap operas in which he has participated in almost six decades of artistic career includes "My husband has a family," "Dream of love," "My heart is yours," and, more recently, "My fortune is loving you."
Her charisma has taken her to Hollywood, where she participated in the films "Man on Fire" and "The Same Moon."
As a producer, Salinas stood out for the staging "Aventurera", which ran for several years on the billboard and in which it had the participation of actresses such as the Cuban Niurka, and the Mexican Edith González and Itatí Cantoral.
In 2015, she entered the world of politics as a deputy of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), a facet that provoked criticism for her relationship with the then ruling party.
