The case of Israelis detained in Turkey: In

Ankara, they reported tonight (Thursday) that the couple arrived for a tour of the Istanbul communications tower that opened last year, where they photographed and documented the landscapes.

According to the same reports, the two documented Erdogan's residence area, which is less than four kilometers away - and presented the documents to each other.

At this point, a guard in the tower who heard the couple talking to each other about a photo of Erdogan's residence reported it to the Istanbul police.

Following this, according to local reports, the security unit of the Presidential Residence and the police in the fight against terrorism of Istanbul entered into operation.

The husband and wife were arrested and taken to the facility of the Istanbul Anti-Terrorism Police.

Once their questioning has apparently ended, the prosecution is expected to sue for their deportation.

The reports in Turkey paint a different picture than what has been reported so far.

In a letter sent by their lawyer, Nir Jaslovitz, to Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, it is mentioned that the two photographed the building during an innocent cruise.

The lawyer called on Minister Lapid to work for the release of his clients arrested in Turkey.

"This is an exceptional case, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must do everything possible so that Israeli citizens are not detained outside the borders of the country for no wrongdoing," he said.

It should be noted that the Foreign Ministry is aware of the issue and is in contact with the Turkish authorities.

Earlier, a senior Turkish official told Israel Today that the "arrest of 15 Palestinian Mossad agents in Turkey has made everything related to suspected Israeli crimes in Turkey much more sensitive. The facility they filmed is well secured 24/7 from all directions, and if photographed from a short distance - It's becoming a problem. "

He said, "When photographers may be questioned that this is a secure facility. The procedure is not intentional against Israelis, but against anyone from any country who performs such an action near the presidential residence. We welcome Israeli tourists and are happy to see them in Turkey."
