Munich / Wolfertschwenden - As part of the competition "Gütesiegel Heimatdorf 2021", communities with up to 3,000 inhabitants could apply for the Bavarian-wide award for quality of life and homeland affinity for the Home Office, as in 2019.
Wolfertschwenden is one of the award-winning municipalities.
In a four-stage application process, two municipalities per administrative district were selected by a jury - consisting of the district president and the district council president of the respective administrative district together with the home ministry - which offer the best future prospects for their residents. In addition to quality of life and a feeling of being close to home, the planned use of the premium to further improve the “equivalent living conditions” on site was assessed. The premium is 50,000 or 60,000 euros if the municipality is located in an area where there is a special need for action.
At the award ceremony for the 14 winning congregations in the Allerheiligen-Hofkirche at the Munich Residence, Bavaria's Minister of Finance and Homeland, Albert Füracker, said: “Bavaria is a unique home with a high quality of life and many special treasures: cultural wealth, lived traditions and an internationally famous cultural landscape. The greatest treasure, however, are our many volunteer people. They are the pillars of our social cohesion. Without the voluntary work, many offers, for example in the sporting and cultural area, would not be possible. As active local designers, they shape the unique Bavarian attitude towards life with their important work ”. “With the 'Heimatdorf' seal of approval, we honor the special commitment of the residents in our communities.In Bavaria we have really strong and creative home villages with ideas for future projects. Creating and maintaining 'equal living conditions' - that is not only anchored in our Bavarian constitution, but a common task, ”Füracker appealed.
The community of Wolfertschwenden in the Unterallgäu district would like to invest the premium in the construction of a multi-generation place near the primary school.
The conception and maintenance should be done on a voluntary basis by the village community.
Natural playground, flower meadow, vegetable patch and a barefoot path are intended to increase the quality of life on site for all residents.
The community receives prize money of 50,000 euros for this.
