The Israeli couple who were arrested in Turkey during the week will be brought in tomorrow (Friday) for a hearing on extending their detention.

The two traveled to the country for a private vacation, but were then arrested during a cruise in Istanbul with family members on suspicion of "photographing Erdogan's palace complex."

At the same time, the family members of the two are working hard to bring them back to Israel.

"How can we sleep at night when we know they're there," they wondered.

The arrest of the two became known after a tour guide who was with the couple updated the family.

"The connection with them was severed on Tuesday," said Carmit, the detainee's sister.

"Their five-year-old son is very stressed. Every knock on the door he jumps up and asks what's up with Dad and Mom."

With the update on the arrest, the family in Israel contacted the Foreign Ministry, which, according to Carmit, was dormant.

"Only when we started making noise and in the evening communication did it start to move. Until then they just said they were waiting for information and that they knew nothing," she said.

"It was in the air."

This morning she got up "with a full stomach," as she put it.

"I did not sleep all night and said you can not be silent. I do not know if anything happened to them. I need to help my sister, I need information. I can not sleep another night without knowing what is happening to them."

The couple went on vacation last week in honor of the woman's birthday.

As part of the holiday, on Tuesday they participated in a tourist cruise.

The Foreign Ministry says they are familiar with the reports and are handling the matter.

A source in Turkey said today that the president was unaware of their arrest, and that they were taken for questioning immediately afterwards.

The couple's family in Israel hired for them lawyer Nir Jaslovitch, who called on Foreign Minister Yair Lapid to release the detained couple, he said without any justifiable reason.

The lawyer asked Lapid to do everything in his power, including contacting the Turkish Foreign Minister directly and immediately.
