An Israeli couple were arrested yesterday (Wednesday) in Turkey after allegedly photographing the palace of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Foreign Ministry is aware of the issue and is in contact with the Turkish authorities.
The couple, unaware that this was a violation of the law, photographed the palace during a tourist cruise in Turkey.
The two were arrested and were scheduled to return to Israel on a flight that took off yesterday afternoon.
The two were questioned to understand the reason for photographing the Turkish president's palace.
Yesterday we spoke to the family of the couple who told in a conversation with "Israel Today" that "they have been missing for almost a day and we do not know what happened to them, we are very worried and afraid that something happened to them. They were supposed to check out at the hotel a few hours ago. "On a flight to Israel, but they did not leave the hotel and did not board the flight."
As mentioned, it was only later in the evening that it became clear that the two had been arrested.
