Arson and attacks occurred in Sha Tin.
At about 2 am, it was reported that a man aged between 50 and 60 was found outside a tea restaurant on the podium of Fu Yu Building, Lek Yuen Village, Sha Tin. He splashed the ground with suspected thinner and set it on fire.
A group of teenagers over 10 years old who were chatting nearby came forward to persuade him when they saw this, but someone suddenly shot and punched one of the teenagers in the face, causing him to get a nose injury.
The rest wanted to step forward to stop it.
According to reports, someone showed up and brandished a knife to scare the crowd.
The man took the opportunity to escape and abandoned the Tiannai water tank in a treasure bucket about 50 meters away from the arson site.
When the firefighter arrived at the scene, the fire had been extinguished; the police arrived at the scene to search and eventually found the old man involved in the case and arrested him.
The police are investigating the incident, but have not found any sharp weapons.
The attacked teenager was injured and must be sent to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
