The corona rules are being tightened again due to the increasing incidence in many federal states.

Read here what that means for vacation planning.

The 7-day incidence nationwide is 263.7 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants (as of November 12) and has thus reached a new high.

The federal states of Bavaria (incidence: 454.9), Saxony (569.0) and Thuringia (491.3) are particularly hard hit.

In Bavaria, therefore, the disaster was declared again and corona measures tightened.

However, there are still no nationwide uniform rules, which makes planning tourist excursions and trips more difficult.

In the overview you will therefore find the current corona measures of the federal states.

Vacation in Germany: The corona rules of the federal states at a glance

  • Baden-Württemberg

: The state is expected to reach a value of 390 patients in the intensive care units in the near future.

This would bring the so-called alert level into force, which would result in a

    2G regulation

    .

Events, restaurants, pubs, amusement arcades and indoor snack bars would be affected.

Unvaccinated people are then only allowed to go to basic supply stores such as supermarkets or pharmacies.

  • Bavaria

: Since November 11th, the disaster has been in effect again in Bavaria. A few days before that, the corona measures were tightened: The 3G + rule now applies in hotels and restaurants - so only vaccinated, recovered and tested people with a negative PCR test are allowed. However, operators can also voluntarily introduce the 2G rule. Children under 12 years of age are exempt from the obligation to test. In addition, it is again mandatory to wear an FFP2 mask on buses, trains and shops. In the coming week, according to a report by the German Press Agency (dpa), the 2G rule will come into force across the board in Bavaria. Unvaccinated people then have access restrictions for the catering and hotel industry, as the dpa reported on Friday, citing well-informed circles. The earliest possible date for the introduction would therefore be Tuesday, but the exact details should not be decided until the state government's retreat at the weekend.

  • Berlin

    : From November 15, only

    those who

    have been

    vaccinated and recovered will have

access to leisure facilities such as restaurants, cinemas, thermal baths or saunas as well as closed rooms in theme parks or in the zoo.

An exception applies to people under 18 who can present a negative corona test.

  • Brandenburg

has also decided to use the 2G rule from November 15th.

    From then on, only

people with proof of vaccination or recovery

    will be allowed to

visit restaurants, hotels, cinemas, theaters, clubs or festivals, as reported by the

    Berliner Zeitung

    ,

    among others

    .

The 2G rule does not apply to people under the age of 18 who can present a negative corona test.

The regulation will initially apply until December 5th.

  • Bremen

: Bremen has one of the

    lowest incidences in Germany

    with a value of 100.6

. Accordingly, the lowest warning level 0 still applies here, which means that the 3G rule is no longer applicable indoors. Warning level 1 has already occurred in Bremerhaven, which results in the 3G rule. A 2G rule is also possible at higher warning levels.

  • In

    August,

    Hamburg

introduced the option of restricting access to restaurants, bars or cinemas to vaccinated and convalescent people. Since then, many operators have

    made use

    of the

    2G model

. A restriction is also possible at hairdressers or in retail. If the number of corona cases increases drastically, Hamburg's government wants to expand the 2G rule to other areas. The decisive factor is the hospitalization rate. Exceptions apply to children under 12 years of age.

  • Hesse

    : In Hesse, the

    3G + rule

    applies with immediate

    effect

at events or in facilities such as sports facilities, cultural venues, restaurants or amusement arcades. A rapid antigen test is no longer sufficient. Operators also have the option of introducing the 2G rule independently. A negative corona test must also be presented in hotels and other accommodation providers if those affected have not been vaccinated or have recovered. Guests who stay more than seven days have to be tested twice a week, as reported by the online portal

    Reisereporter

    .

  • Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

: Pubs, restaurants and event organizers have long had the option of introducing a 2G regulation for themselves. For them, this has the advantage that they can dispense with protective measures. However, the 3G rule always applies in cinemas. In theaters and galleries, among other places, there is a requirement to have a hygiene concept with a mask requirement and distance rules. The 3G rule should generally apply here indoors.

  • Lower Saxony

: In Lower Saxony, hotels, restaurants and bars may

    optionally introduce a 2G regulation

. A revised ordinance also stipulates that 2G will be compulsory for events with more than 1,000 people indoors. In indoor catering, too, 2G can become mandatory from a certain warning level, but this has not yet been achieved. In

    tourist accommodation providers

, unvaccinated people currently have to present a negative corona test upon arrival and repeat this twice a week. Both PCR (maximum 72 hours old) and antigen rapid tests (maximum 48 hours old) are permitted, as the online portal

    Reisereporter

    also reports.

  • North Rhine-Westphalia has

a 3G rule for most events. In

    indoor restaurants and tourist accommodation

vaccinated, convalescents and tested thus are allowed. PCR tests or rapid tests that are no longer than 48 hours old are permitted. The test must be presented on arrival at the accommodation facility and every four days thereafter. When visiting the club or in the pub, only negative PCR tests that are no longer than 24 hours old are allowed.

  • Rhineland-Palatinate

    : In Rhineland-Palatinate, the

    3G rule

applies indoors, for example in restaurants, hotels and sports

. Warning level 2 could soon be reached, which only allows a maximum of 100 unvaccinated people at indoor events. Distance rules and the mask requirement can only be waived if there are a maximum of ten unvaccinated people in the room. For outdoor events, such as Christmas markets, there should be largely no distance rules, mask requirements or access controls.

  • Saarland

    : The so-called "Saarland-Plus-Modell" provides for a

    3G regulation

for indoor areas of restaurants, sporting events and leisure facilities, as

    reported by

    the

    Tagesschau

. A tightening of 2G is currently not planned. A mask is now only required in public transport or in retail, where the 3G certificates cannot be checked.

  • Saxony

: Among other things, the strictest corona rules in Germany prevail here - which is probably also due to the high incidence. Since November 8th,

only those who have been vaccinated and recovered have been given

access to pubs, restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs or in the interior of cultural and leisure facilities. For the time being, Christmas markets should still be able to take place without the 2G rule.

  • Saxony-Anhalt

: In Saxony-Anhalt they rely on

    2G, 3G and AHA rules

. First, however, the 3G rule should be reintroduced consistently if the 7-day incidence is above 100 and at the same time the 7-day incidence of hospitalizations is five or the nationwide proportion of Covid 19 patients in intensive care beds is one A value of five percent was achieved. Organizers have the option of switching to 2G.

  • Schleswig-Holstein

currently has the lowest incidence in Germany with a value of 93.9.

Therefore, there are no known plans to switch to the 2G model.

    At indoor events, however, only

    those who

    have been

    vaccinated, recovered and tested are

allowed access - there is then no mask requirement.

However, this must in turn be observed in buses, trains or when shopping.

  • Thuringia

: In Thuringia, different rules may apply depending on the district or urban district.

    The

Ministry of Health recommends a 3G + regulation

, but many municipalities want to continue to allow rapid tests.

According to media reports, Health Minister Heike Werner announced the introduction of a nationwide 2G rule.

However, details are not yet known.
