As an alleged managing director, a fraudster tried to steal a five-figure sum of money from a company in Rottweil.
According to the police, an employee of the company received an email from her supposed boss that seemed deceptively real.
In it she was asked to transfer an invoice amount to an account.
Rottweil - The woman later discovered irregularities and contacted the actual managing director.
He did not know anything about the transfer allegedly commissioned.
The company reported the incident to the police, who are now investigating.
"The requested amount of money has not been transferred," said the police on Friday.
In doing so, she corrected her information on Thursday, according to which the fraudster had been successful.
