Special Envoy to Podlasie (Poland)
In recent days, the usually quiet roads of Podlasie, in eastern Poland, have become unrecognizable.
Military convoys, police trucks and 4 × 4 border guards roam the towns near the border with Belarus day and night.
On the other side, not far from the town of Bruzgi, 3,000 to 4,000 migrants, mainly from Iraq, want to reach Poland and have been stuck around the Kuźnica border crossing since Monday.
The Polish authorities have considerably strengthened the presence of the police in this section of the forest as well as in the whole region.
They also closed their border crossing on Tuesday and until further notice.
