The Hallbergmoos community would have liked to have filled their artificial turf soccer field in an environmentally friendly manner.

But the government is banning the plans for a reason.

Hallbergmoos

- The municipality of Hallbergmoos wants to be particularly environmentally friendly and fill the artificial turf soccer field in the sports park with organic granulate, and then the government of Upper Bavaria intervenes: Because there is only one manufacturer for the environmentally friendly filling material, the municipality has to withdraw the tender.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

As experts had explained to the local council in detail, bio-granulate is the most ecological filling material - and far more environmentally friendly than cork or plastic granulate.

For this, the municipality would have invested some money (365,000 euros).

But it is not allowed: The municipality must withdraw the tender issued in March.

Reason: There is currently only one manufacturer of organic granulate that is 100 percent compostable and biodegradable.

The VOB office of the government does not see the competitiveness guaranteed - and issued two complaints about the award of the contract.

All efforts - the involvement of a specialist lawyer and the help of an evaluation matrix - were of no use: The municipality has to switch to backfilling with sand.

The local council approved the building authority's alternative proposal - albeit grudgingly: “This bureaucracy drives me crazy.

We want to use the highest standard and are not allowed to ”, annoyed Heinrich Lemer (FW).

The renovation of the artificial turf pitch is scheduled for 2022.

The cost is around 333,000 euros.
