This legislative package called "
Build Back Better
Will be spread over five years.
It provides for an envelope of 1000 billion dollars of expenditure, the equivalent of the annual GDP of the Netherlands, to renovate the roads, bridges, rail, ports or even the dilapidated airports of the country.
It should also make it possible to accelerate the development of high-speed internet, renovate the electricity networks and promote the development of charging stations for electric cars.
The announcement immediately spiked Wall Street: the same day, the three major American indices set records.
The Dow Jones climbed to over 36,000 points, the Nasdaq approached 16,000 points and the Standard & Poor's 500 approached 4,700 points at the close.
