A federal investigative jury has brought an indictment against former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon, CNN learned.

Prosecutors presented an indictment and an arrest warrant to a federal magistrate Friday afternoon, according to CNN reporters in the magistrate's room.

The judge signed an arrest warrant for a defendant with the initials "SB."

A source familiar with the matter confirmed that SB was Steve Bannon.

Earlier, CNN reporters saw a District of Columbia prosecutor enter the jury room.

CNN was able to confirm that the investigative jury heard evidence about Bannon and his interactions with Congress.
