Gao Zhihuo said in the open letter that the process of dismantling the "Pillar of National Sorrow" was complicated. He stated that he learned that the "Minato National Security Law" can be used to prosecute foreign citizens who criticize China, and the activities and media reports caused by the removal of "Pillars of National War" would be regarded as criticizing China. Therefore, he asked the Hong Kong government to guarantee him and The team, as well as the personnel who assisted in handling the Pillar of Death in Hong Kong, will not be charged with violating the "Minato National Security Law" for removing the Pillar of Death.
He mentioned that he had been refused entry to Hong Kong twice, and suggested that the Hong Kong and Danish governments discuss relevant agreements.
