The Israeli team had high hopes for the Moldovan team, which hosted Scotland tonight (Friday) at the Zimbabwe Stadium in Chisinau.
The level differences between the guests from the British Isles and the rival were evident from the opening minutes, thus archiving Israel's last tiny chance to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.
It ended with a slight 0: 2 of the Scots, but until the 38th minute Scotland preferred to have a hard time finding the goal of the Moldavians, whose goalkeeper Stanislav Nemasco stood in the breach.
But, he too could not at that minute to the sharpness of Nathan Patterson, a Rangers player, who put his team in the lead and enjoyed cooking from John McGuinn of Aston Villa.
0: 1 was the result of the first half, and in the second half nothing changed.
Scotland dominated the game, searching non-stop for the opponent's goal and finally doubled the lead in the 65th minute, this time from the feet of Southampton player Che Adams.

In the 81st minute the Scots looked entangled, with Patterson again involved in an important move.
In an attempt to keep a ball away he touched his hand and arranged for Moldova a penalty.
To his delight, Vadim Rata's kick was repulsed by goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
Thanks to this victory, 0: 2, the Scots secured second place in the "Israeli" home and will compete in the playoffs for a ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, hoping to return to the prestigious status after 24 years and delight their fans who accompanied them in large numbers to Chisinau.
Israel, as usual, will watch the big TV tournament.
