Souâd Ayada: "We have no power over the content of textbooks"

TRIBUNE - The President of the Higher Council for Programs regrets the lack of substantive dialogue with school publishers.

The role of the Higher Council for Programs is to propose program projects to the Minister responsible for National Education.

Its objective is to ensure the transmission of fundamental knowledge in each discipline taught, to ensure that students have access to what can only be acquired through school and at school.

Where I am, I try as much as possible to protect the school institution from all the fashions in vogue in society and to protect it from ideologies of "deconstruction", postcolonial or identity.

The new high school programs reflect my conviction that the school cannot be a substitute for this or that current of thought which, unfortunately, finds its bastions in the university.

Academic freedom and research are confused with the exercise of activism imbued with these fashionable ideologies.

The intellectual situation of university structures where professors are trained deserves the greatest attention in this regard.

School publishers are not required to do anything, not even to ensure the accuracy of the content they distribute!
