The energy of five wind turbines

The roofs of the celebrity community offer space for solar energy - not only investors, but all citizens could benefit from it.

Grünwald

- You could almost speak of fallow roofs in Grünwald.

In any case, they have an enormous energy potential ready: A total of 2450 usable roof areas and only about 150 systems are located in Grünwald.

Achim Zeppenfeld (SPD) wants to change that and has come a step closer to the goal with his corresponding motions in the municipal council: namely that more incentives are created for the construction of solar power systems.

"That would be very lucrative"

In the application, Achim Zeppenfeld (SPD) suggested that Erdwärme Grünwald GmbH consider renting or leasing roof areas for the use of solar energy and submit a concept for this. The idea motivated the administration to actually submit a concept. Modified, however. Florian Lesch has been responsible for energy and climate protection in the Grünwald community since May. He took care of the matter. For the time being, self-management should remain with the Grünwald citizens themselves. A business model for operating solar energy systems has existed since the EEG law was introduced 20 years ago. The investor would lease the roof, install a system on it and feed in the electricity. There is a fixed remuneration for this. However, it is designed in such a way that it should expire in the future. The better the expansion, the lower the remuneration. At the same time, the costs for the systems have fallen sharply in recent years. They are now stagnating. According to Lesch, you can either sell the electricity on the grid. But that is overloaded with regulations. In addition, an investor who builds the system on the roof can offer the tenant the electricity for direct purchase. But there is no obligation to purchase on the electricity market. In principle, the climate manager is of the opinion that photovoltaics is the only way to use renewable energies alongside geothermal energy in Grünwald. According to his estimate, around 50 percent of the electricity consumption could be covered by the systems if all usable roof areas are included. That would correspond to about five large wind turbines. Roughly the order of magnitude in which the entire district of Ebersberg is planning. At the moment there are only 157 plants despite high subsidies. The building structure would be suitable for the high number of photovoltaic surfaces, the owners also live in the houses and could both make the investment and use the electricity themselves. "That would also be very lucrative."

The municipality takes over the planning

In order to facilitate the registration process and the planning for the Grünwalder, the administration has suggestions ready. A bundle action should take place. In the first step, they should be informed about photovoltaics and storage. In the next step, one can examine the local conditions. If you are interested, an individual system planning would be possible. All of this from the town hall administration. Then you can approach regional plumbers and ask them to get offers. This is pleasant for them because the church has already done all the preparatory work. The municipality also wants to continue accompanying the implementation process through to commissioning and successful completion. Florian Lesch: “We hope that this will create a dynamic.“Achim Zeppenfeld thought the idea of the bundle campaign was great and joined it, as did Ingrid Reinhart-Maier (Greens). She knows many people in Grünwald who are considering installing a system but shy away from the effort.

Thomas Lindbüchl (CSU) bought a solar system a year ago: “And why? Because it pays off now when I use the electricity myself. ”Not to be forgotten: The municipality is already funding 20 percent of the investment in such a system, and a battery storage facility is also subsidized (we reported). Thomas Lindbüchl: “The storage tank works at night and if I haven't cooked much, it'll make it until morning.” He thinks the idea with the planning support is simply brilliant.

Mayor Jan Neusiedl (CSU) offered the original applicant, Achim Zeppenfeld, to turn to the local council again if the basis for the feed-in tariff has changed.

Then you can make a new decision.

The SPD municipal council was able to make friends with this.

The elected representatives voted unanimously for the bundle action.
