The article quoted two anonymous individuals who reported that they had graduated from the Chinese University on the evening of November 12th of the previous year, the content of the "violent incident at CUHK" was inaccurate and false, making readers mistakenly believe that the police targeted the students, aroused the sentiments of the police, and beautified the thugs. The police expressed strong dissatisfaction with Zhongda’s illegal activities.
The police pointed out in the letter that the article repeatedly used "to guard the Chinese University" to describe the purpose of those who entered CUHK that night, and used biased words such as "the police fired more than 2,000 tear gas at the campus" and "riot police attacked the campus". Describe the police's law enforcement and reiterate that the purpose of law enforcement that day has been repeatedly emphasized. The reason was that mobs threw debris on the Tolo Highway and the MTR East Rail Line's north-south traffic on the CUHK Bridge. Therefore, the police must intervene to stop illegal activities.
The police also pointed out that a rioter threw a large number of petrol bombs, bricks and sundries at the police at that time, and a police officer was injured, so the rioters had to be dispersed with a minimum of force.
