In Fagradalsfjall, the birth of a new volcano is never missing. It is also the occasion for a stroll in the west of the country, along the Reykjanes and Snæfellsnes peninsulas, between jagged shores, volcanoes and hot springs.

    Wild beauty of the south coast

Neither the darkness nor the steepness of the path stop the continuous stream of spectators. Alone, in a group, with the family; in short strides, light sneakers on the feet; the slow and sure step of the seasoned mountaineer; Perched on bikes with large wheels, Thermos of coffee stuffed in the bags, they climb, happy and willful, or descend, tired and sated. The neighbors first, residents of Grindavík, the nearest town, 7 kilometers away, followed shortly by those of Reykjavík - the spectacle is played barely fifty minutes from the capital -, then volcanoes enthusiasts and the Americans, taking advantage of a stop-over in Iceland, were the first ants of the multicolored and uninterrupted cohort which, for months already, ascends to the assault of the hills of Fagradalsfjall. The foreigners arrived with the summer,from the four corners of the world, informed simultaneously thanks to the reactivity of the networks
