The exhibition (Expo Dubai 2020) celebrates the Syrian pavilion within what is known as the national days of the countries participating in the exhibition tomorrow, Sunday, by holding a variety of cultural and artistic activities for which the Syrian pavilion team has prepared at Expo Dubai in cooperation with the Syrian Embassy and the Syrian Trust for Development.
The Syrian Ambassador to the UAE and General Commissioner of the Syria Pavilion, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, said in a statement to SANA that the National Day ceremony begins with a meeting in the leadership pavilion of the Expo between the Syrian and Emirati official delegations participating in this activity, then the two delegations head to Al Wasl Square to raise the Syrian national flag and play the anthem. The national conference of the two countries, then exchanging words for the heads of delegations, after which a technical presentation and a visit to the Syrian and Emirati pavilions begin, and this includes meetings of official delegations, followed by a commercial briefing.
Ambassador Abbas stated that specialists and representatives of the Syrian and Emirati chambers of commerce and industry were invited to attend the business briefing meeting devoted to presenting the economic opportunities offered by Syria to investors, which is held under the title (Syria... The Gateway to the World).
The celebration of the National Day of Syria, according to Ambassador Abbas, includes cultural and artistic activities that express the richness of the Syrian heritage and culture, such as a live performance of the art of Arabic calligraphy throughout the day of the celebration and a musical show under the name “Fusion” inspired by Sufi poetry and Syrian heritage, in addition to a tasting ceremony for the traditional Syrian ice-cream craft and a national march. Musical performances in public squares and gardens, a presentation by bands and a visual production show.
Ambassador Abbas stated that the Syrian National Day will conclude with a ceremony to salute the spirit of the great artist Sabah Fakhri, which will be revived by the artist Muhammad Khairy, to celebrate the art of Al-Qudud Al-Halabi, which is nominated for registration on the UNESCO lists of human heritage.
A Syrian delegation will participate in this National Day, headed by the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, and includes the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Sousan, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Eng. Nidal Mashfaj, in addition to Ambassador Abbas and Consul General of Syria in Dubai, Kinan Zahreddine, Faris Kallas from the Syrian Trust for Development, and Eng. Khaled The Candle Wing Manager.
