5 soldiers, including an officer, were killed in an ambush carried out by ISIS terrorists in Borno State, northeastern Nigeria.
The Nigerian Daily Trust website stated that the incident occurred in the town of Bolgoma, kilometers from the city of Askera Oba in the state, explaining that it coincided with a large-scale attack on a military base in Borno state by the terrorist organization.
The site indicated that hundreds of civilians in the areas surrounding the military base fled towards the nearby mountains and villages.
Since 2009, Nigeria has witnessed repeated attacks and terrorist operations that have left thousands dead and forced more than 2.6 million people to flee.
