The protests in some places against the new branch structure of the Sparkasse in Tölzer Land with planned site closings are large.

The bank has now presented a solution for two locations.

Gaißach / Walchensee - After the announced closure of the Sparkasse branches in Gaißach and Walchensee at the end of the year (we reported) and the subsequent protests, the Sparkasse Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen is now announcing an alternative solution for the two locations. A “fast and close cash supply” will continue to be ensured on site, according to a message - in the form of ATMs.

In Walchensee, a “Service Point” of the Sparkasse will be open in the tourist information area with the usual services once a week with a Sparkasse employee (Mondays from 8.30 am to 11.30 am). What is new is that the Euronet company will set up and operate an ATM there. The solution was achieved together with the municipality of Kochel am See. "I saw that the supply of cash in Walchensee could become a problem," says Kochler Mayor Thomas Holz. "We negotiated closely with the Sparkasse, and I am very happy with the result." Customers of Sparkasse Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen will be able to withdraw cash free of charge from this ATM in future, because "the Sparkasse will cover the costs that Euronet would otherwise charge" explains Holz. “That's a really great story.“He is“ really happy ”about this solution. "We as a community also participate by providing the space and power supply for the machine."

Cooperation with Raiffeisenbank Oberland in Gaißach

Savings bank customers in Gaißach can also breathe a sigh of relief.

Here the Sparkasse Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen will cooperate with the local Raiffeisenbank Oberland.

At their ATM in Gaißach, customers of the Sparkasse can withdraw cash free of charge.

"We are of course pleased," says Stefan Fadinger, Mayor of the Gaißach community.

Preserving the branch was the top priority, according to Fadinger, but this was not possible.

"880 signatures against the closure had been collected by Thursday," said the mayor.

"This shows once again that perseverance was the right way."

Renate Waßmer, CEO of Sparkasse Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, is satisfied with the result.

“We are pleased to have found a good solution with this offer for our customers, especially for our older and less mobile customers.

We were happy to take up the wishes of many customers and readjust them to suit them. "

But Waßmer also emphasizes: "We are of course sticking to our fundamental decision for the new structure of our branches due to the massive changes in customer behavior." Because the use of digital communication channels has increased massively.

A trend that will continue and will make it necessary to close branches.
