GAP - District Administrator Anton Speer honored Annemie Pfundstein and Josef Schöttl from Bad Kohlgrub, almost 100 years of commitment to the farmer's theater of the “Mountain Trachten Conservation Association“ Edelweiss ”Bad Kohlgrub eV”.

During a small ceremony in the meeting room of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen District Office, they were presented with the district's decorations in gold and the certificates.

Since 1908 there has been a farmer's theater in the ranks of the GTEV "Edelweiß" in Bad Kohlgrub.

The theater group with currently around 40 members, which rehearses several small plays every year, delights the spa guests and locals of Bad Kohlgrub anew every year.

Annemie Pfundstein has been a member of GTEV Bad Kohlgrub since 1972 and has been active in the association's theater group since then. With her positive outlook on life, she has been an important part of this farmer's theater for almost half a century. In her favorite roles as Frau Schädle from Stuttgart in “The Wrong Cat” and as Margret in “Der Föhn”, she convinced her audience across the board. Furthermore, in her long career in the theater, she was also a maid, farmer's daughter, holiday guest and mayor.

But she also played several different roles in a single piece in “St. Pauli in St. Peter “with flying colors. In this play, which has been performed over and over again over the years, she was first the lover, then the landlady and then the old housekeeper. She has also been active in other areas of the traditional costume association for many years. She was active with the “Plattlermadln” and always supported the association regularly when they went out on various occasions or when preparing for parties, tying garlands and building wagons. For this longstanding commitment, she was made an honorary member by the association.

Josef Schöttl has been a member of the traditional costume club and the farmer's theater since 1970, i.e. for 51 years. Due to his special talent as an excellent storyteller, he was practically born in the theater. He mastered his first role as a villager in the play "The Marriage Strike" with excellent results. But even as a servant, farmer, grandfather, craftsman and landlord, he has already convinced the audience with his acting skills in many plays. From 1979 to 1994, i.e. for 15 years, he headed one of the playgroups at the Bauerntheater. The many activities of a director range from the selection of the pieces to the organization of the rehearsals to the search for the costumes. Such a long tenure as head of a theater group who has to take care of everything related to the plays, can no longer be taken for granted these days. . Like Annemie Pfundstein, he has also been actively involved in other areas of the traditional costume association for many years, for example as a fire maker or as a helper at various festivals. For this he has also been made an honorary member by the association.

"Such a great commitment to volunteering is anything but a matter of course nowadays and deserves all of us praise and recognition," said District Administrator Speer in the presence of wife Franziska Schöttl, mayor and honorary board member Franz Degele and the first representative of the theater company on the board of the association Ms. Theresia Kouba.
