The corona numbers are exploding.

The carnival association Kammerberg-Fahrenzhausen has now rung in the foolish time.

The President explains the reasons.

Fahrenzhausen / Kammerberg

- In an interview with the president of the Kammerberg-Fahrenzhausen carnival club, Thomas Radlmayr, it becomes clear that those responsible did not make the decision to hold the ball easy for themselves.

Despite all the safety precautions, “a strange feeling” remained in the end, as the 29-year-old explains in an interview.

Freisinger Tagblatt:

Mr. Radlmayr, why did you and your club hold on to the Let's Go Ball on Friday?

Thomas Radlmayr:

We didn't make the decision easy for ourselves.

But we don't want to lose the friends of the club.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, fewer and fewer people have shown interest in active cooperation.

If we skip this season completely, there will soon be no more active players.

And then to get them back together after the pandemic in order to be able to put something big on its feet is difficult if not impossible.

Even if it sounds contradictory in the current situation: We do this out of a sense of responsibility?

Sense of responsibility towards whom?

Also towards children, adolescents and active people.

Our association guards train regularly and with discipline for the carnival season for seven months a year.

This is an important way to balance out school and work, and it is an important part of your free time.

We offer the children and young people - and of course everyone in the big guard - a dance and sports program in their free time.

We are not an association that only has carnival and celebrations in mind.

There's a lot more to it than that.

And if the trainers and the active people lose their interest because there is no more carnival, then we can also forget about training for the children and young people.

At the ball, a lot was different than usual. What did you do to ensure that the guests can celebrate as safely as possible?

Not only are everyone vaccinated within the club, but we have also provided rapid tests for everyone.

And the appeal to all guests - who were all vaccinated or recovered - was also: never come to the ball with symptoms and, if possible, get tested beforehand.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

And it was a pure dance ball.

How come?

With this, too, we have reacted to the current situation on the one hand.

It just wouldn't have been right to show our show in this position.

On the other hand, it is also a sign of fairness towards the little ones: children are not vaccinated and therefore could not be there.

And part of the teenage guard also has no or not yet complete vaccination protection.

We didn't want to just tear the groups apart.

That is why we have decided not to introduce the Prince Couple and the Child Prince Couple.

That and the presentation of the program of the three guards will - hopefully - be made up for.

When, however, is written in the stars.

At the moment everything is postponed indefinitely.

So the prince couple was there incognito on Thursday and celebrated?

Yes, exactly.

Were there critical voices in advance because the ball was not canceled?

Yes, of course there was.

But we have such strict controls, we have a lot more security guards who look very carefully.

And whether you meet at a ball in Fahrenzhausen or whether people go to a discotheque makes no difference in the end.

We did not make the decision easy for ourselves and opted for this compromise: Ball yes, big proclamation no.

We live in a time when you can't really do anything right anyway.

Do you have a strange feeling in the end?

We are aware of the seriousness of the situation and deal with it responsibly.

Of course, there is still a strange feeling when a lot of people meet.

But if you want to continue after Corona, you have to make compromises.
