“We do an average of two special orders per year,”
French Marc Poulain, arguably one of the most talented designers currently working in the Ferrari styling office, told us recently during a visit to Maranello.
The Italian manufacturer does not necessarily communicate on all its special projects.
It all depends on the sponsor.
That of the BR-20, a long-time customer of the brand, kindly revealed its tailor-made work which, according to Ferrari's communication, is inspired by two of its emblematic models in its history: the 410 Superamerica and the 500 Superfast.

What responsibility at the wheel of an “autonomous car”?
Of the 12-cylinder GTC4 Lusso, not much remains.
The body was lengthened by 76mm and completely modified, including the slimmed down and shortened headlamps.
The sides have been completely revised and now include an air intake on the lower fender.
It is extended by a carbon fiber blade on the sill to promote air flow.

The roof has also been the subject of a new design, abandoning the 2 + 2 cabin for a rear fastback including a sloping rear window that ends in a rounded shape.
In profile, the BR-20 looks more like an 812 Superfast than a GTC4 Lusso.
Behind the rear quarter window, the designers imagined an arch hollowed out to create an aerodynamic channel with the spoiler.
The two round double optics interact with the exhaust nozzles developed specifically for the BR-20.

The interior has also been completely redesigned.
The two rear buckets of the GTC4Lusso have been removed in order to leave plenty of room for luggage.
If the dashboard and instrumentation are identical to those of the GTC4 Lusso, the owner wanted a unique atmosphere combining two shades of brown including dark brown leather upholstery that appears patinated.
As with most Ferrari special projects, the production process for the BR-20 spanned over a year.
It was worth it: the result is remarkable.
