A contentious point: the height development of the future hotel. Stolb did not want to accept that the scaffolding's eaves height - as anchored in the development plan - is twelve meters. Here you have to measure from the lowest point of the site, he said.
Architect: A contemporary hotel needs certain floor heights
Architect Christof Lampadius defended the planned dimensions. "We have already gone under the floor of the building with the building to reduce the height," he explained. The demands on a hotel have changed, nowadays a lot of technology has to be accommodated in such a building. “That's why we have to reckon with certain storey heights,” said Lampadius. A hotel has been designed here that can be run economically. He can understand that the neighbors are not enthusiastic about the very high structure, the architect admitted. However, he pointed out that a plot of land with an existing development plan had been acquired. Lampadius was convinced that a hotel would be built here, "that would bring a clientele to Bad Wiessee, that would be good for the whole place."

However, there is not much that the community can change about the project. As the head of the building authority Anton Bammer made clear, there was a valid development plan for the property, which the previous municipal council had drawn up for a sports hotel that was planned at the time. The goal is now that this development plan is "adhered to as much as possible". In principle, however, the building law cannot be shaken.
CSU councilor Florian Sareiter added that the council is trying to weigh up the interests.
A whole litany of homework was therefore asked of the investors.
However, it has always been the wish of the municipality that a tourist offer should be created here - “the neighborhood knew that too”.
And SPD colleague Bernd Kuntze-Fechner pointed out that this was originally by no means an “untouched landscape” and that large buildings had always been planned on the site.
But he assured: "We will be very careful."
Mayor does not want to push the project behind closed doors
Mayor Robert Kühn (SPD) described the display scaffolding as important for the decision-making process and emphasized: This project should not be carried out behind closed doors - "that is also something to do with the neighbors and citizens".
The local council will probably deal with the specific building application for the hotel in December.
