The Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district reports the first bottlenecks in the vaccine from Biontech.

Many GPs meanwhile lack the time and staff to vaccinate everyone who currently wants to.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- For many weeks, the corona vaccine was offered like sour beer.

But it is currently in great demand again.

The district office is now reporting: There is already another bottleneck in the Biontech vaccine.

The next delivery of the Biontech vaccine in Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen is expected on Monday

At the appointment of the vaccination bus in Dietramszell on Friday afternoon, authority spokeswoman Marlis Peischer announced in advance that the Biontech vaccine "will be exhausted relatively quickly" due to the high demand.

The vaccines from Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are available in sufficient quantities.

A new delivery of Biontech is expected on Monday.

"However, it is not yet clear when this will arrive," says Peischer.

The scheduled appointment of the vaccination bus at 12 noon at the Isartaler electrical market in Geretsried remains - with the proviso that the vaccine is then also there.

How to proceed, if not, will be announced shortly.

But Peischer is confident: "A lot is being done to have enough vaccine."

Some of the medical practices can no longer cope with the vaccination in terms of time and personnel

She also assumes that everyone who shows up at the Wolfratshauser vaccination center on Monday will get the desired spades.

It is certain that all scheduled vaccinations, for example in clinics or nursing homes, will be carried out.

In the medical practices, however, according to Dr.

Jörg Lohse, general practitioner from Münsing and medical coordinator of the pandemic fight in the district, the vaccine is not the limiting factor.

“We continue to get what we order,” he says.

One limitation is that some of the practices are no longer able to cope with vaccination in terms of time and personnel.

In view of the increasing number of infections, resident doctors are also busy with PCR tests and, of course, with the treatment of diseases.

"The flu vaccination is also in great demand."

Instead of 15, over 100 people now come to the vaccination bus appointments

In principle, therefore, it was planned to increasingly relocate vaccination from the practices to the vaccination center.

Then, however, the demand exploded.

Lose himself was also unable to maintain his idea of only administering 21 doses per week.

The appointment requests for Friday alone have grown from five to 77 since Monday.

"Of these, about one third are first vaccinations and two thirds are booster vaccinations."

The rush on the vaccination bus developed in a similar way.

It wasn't long ago when 15 people stopped by one afternoon, as Lohse remembers.

According to Peischer, 110 people were vaccinated on the vaccination bus in Benediktbeuern on Thursday - an additional 340 in the vaccination center and 60 in a clinic on the same day.

"At some point a point had to be set at which the respective vaccination campaign was ended"

But even with the vaccination bus, the vaccine was not the only thing that reached its limits. When it comes to all the logistics in the background - from the staff to the security service - capacities have always been exhausted at the most recent appointments, Peischer admits. So it happened repeatedly that people waiting at the vaccination bus were turned away. Displeasure was expressed in the social media or in emails to the district office. “We are aware that it is uncomfortable, annoying and nerve-wracking to wait up to two hours and then not get to the spades. But due to the logistics in the background, a point had to be set at some point at which the respective vaccination campaign was over. "

In view of the great demand, is the vaccination center in Bad Tölz, which was closed at the end of September, about to be reopened?

The district office will "do everything in its power to expand capacities again as soon as possible," replied Peischer to this question.

"We are currently examining how exactly this can be done."

You can come to the Wolfratshausen Vaccination Center without an appointment four days a week

Anyone wishing to be vaccinated can come to the Wolfratshausen vaccination center every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. without prior registration.

If an appointment is made, the vaccination will take place on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Mechthild Felsch from the Seniors' Advisory Board criticizes, however, that the Free State's vaccination portal, through which appointments are made online, is still not working better than at the beginning of the vaccination campaign.

"Now I'm someone who can actually do it - but in the end I gave up in anger," reports the Münsinger woman.

“It should at least be made easy for those who are willing to vaccinate.” Peischer points out that appointments can also be made by telephone on 08171/3863610.
