After the major restructuring of the Legislative Council, the total number of seats has increased to 90. Under the two major barriers of nomination and qualification review of the new election committee, there have been recent arguments that those who enter the parliament must belong to the organizational structure. In the future, there will be no "organizational system" in the assembly "", "Non-establishment" or "Panmin".

In fact, none of the 154 candidates who have signed up are from the traditional pan-democratic party, and the reshuffle of the establishment has attracted much attention.

According to "Hong Kong 01" statistics, 23 candidates are representatives of the Hong Kong People's Congress or members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. If the provincial, municipal, and prefecture-level CPPCC, and national group members are included, the number will increase significantly.

Some of these 23 people have rarely appeared in the general public's sight in the past, such as CPPCC National Committee members Su Changrong and Tu Haiming, who participated in the election committee, but they were regarded as important members of the "national team."

If all are elected, they will account for more than a quarter of the seats in the new Legislative Council.

Another emerging force includes at least 14 people, including senior Chinese state-owned enterprises and people with strong mainland backgrounds, such as Tan Yueheng, chairman of Bank of Communications International Holdings, and Yan Gang, general manager of China Merchants Port.

The former had served in the National Development and Reform Commission, and public information showed that he was a member of the Communist Party of China. He later stated to the media that he was "inaccurate", but he did not directly respond to whether he had joined the party.

Such people are likely to become "red-chip" new forces. Some of them are not fluent in Cantonese and may discuss politics in Putonghua in the future.

The new Legislative Council increased to 90 seats.

If more than a quarter of the members are elected to the National People’s Political Consultative Conference

Among the current legislators, 12 are also the National People's Representative or the CPPCC in Hong Kong. Only the New Territories West Liang Zhixiang retreated.

Tian Beichen and Li Huiqiong continued to compete for re-election through direct local elections, and were elected in Northwest New Territories and Central Kowloon, respectively. The head of the Hong Kong People's Congress delegation, Ma Fengguo, moved to the election committee.

Liang Meifen, a member of the Basic Law Committee with a similar background, was changed from direct election to the election committee circle.

It is worth noting that of the current 70 general seats, on average, one of the seven members is also the National Representative or the CPPCC.

The new term adds 20 seats. After deducting Liang Zhixiang, who is not re-elected, the number of NPC and CPPCC candidates has increased by 11 to 23.

If, as expected by the political circles, all the 23 veritable "national teams" are elected, the new parliament will have one out of every four members serving as the National People's Representative or the CPPCC, and the proportion will be greatly increased.

23 celebrities elected by the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, only 3 challenged direct elections

Most of the new candidates for the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference are in the election committee circle, and there are 9 people including Ma Fengguo.

Representatives of the Hong Kong People's Congress and the Federation of Trade Unions Wu Qiubei challenged Hong Kong Island East and accepted the baptism of direct elections.

Another Hong Kong People's Congress and the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong, Chen Yong, have little suspense, and will win a seat in the functional constituency of the "People's Congress, CPPCC, and National Organizations" commonly known as the "Super Patriot" seat.

The CPPCC Fok Qigang and Huang Yinghao were elected to the "Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publishing Sector" and "Import and Export Sector" seats respectively.

In other words, the three new candidates will be selected according to the functional constituencies, increasing the number of national generations and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in the armored functional constituency to 11.

The least involved in the National People's Congress and the CPPCC is local direct elections. Only the old generals Li Huiqiong and Tian Beichen, and Wu Qiubei, who played the banner for the first time in direct elections, are elected.

Most of the new forces of the Chinese capital into the council are little known to the public

Another noteworthy phenomenon is the growth of Chinese-funded and mainland-based power, which will contrast sharply with the traditional establishment.

The Chinese representatives in the current Legislative Council have only two members from the functional constituency, namely, Bank of China Hong Kong Chen Zhenying in the financial sector and China Travel Service in the tourism sector Yao Sirong.

There are at least 14 people who have signed up for the new term, together with those who have grown up in the Mainland.

Different from Chen Zhenying and Yao Sirong, new candidates such as Yan Gang of China Merchants Port, Chen Zhaonan of China Merchants Wing Lung Insurance, and Tan Yueheng, Chairman of Bank of Communications International.

Yan Gang graduated from Xiamen University; Tan Yueheng graduated from Hunan University of Finance and Economics. He once worked for the National Development and Reform Commission, Southern Securities, and China Merchants Bank.

When Tan appeared to run for the election committee in August this year, he spoke in Mandarin throughout the entire process, and they rarely appeared in public reports.

"Hong Kong New Direction" Challenges Direct Election by the Hong Kong Political Group

This emerging force also includes some professionals from the Mainland who come to Hong Kong to study and stay in Hong Kong to work. They are commonly known as "Hong Kong drifters." For example, Sun Dong, who graduated with a Ph.D. from CUHK in 1997 and is now a professor at City University, also spoke in Putonghua when he signed up.

With a similar background, Wu Chili, who came to Hong Kong to study for a master's degree in 2006, was reported as an associate researcher of the university.

Hong Wen, a member of the National Hong Kong and Macau Research Association and the head of the New World Research Department, also came to Hong Kong from the Mainland. After graduation, she worked in the Central Policy Group.

The "Hong Kong New Direction" Zhang Xinyu, who was nominated by the heavyweight selection committee such as Professor Yuan Guoyong of the University of Hong Kong, Cheung Kong Zhao Guoxiong, and former CEO of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Li Xiaojia, is a relatively alternative candidate with a mainland background.

During the anti-revision period, the "8.31 Incident" occurred at Prince Edward Station. Zhang was the manager of the station at the time. In an interview, he said that his ancestral home was Shanghai, grew up in Shenzhen, studied in Hong Kong, and worked in the MTR after graduating from the University of Hong Kong, and then got married.

The above-mentioned Chinese-funded candidates and Hong Kong drifters, with the exception of Chen Zhenying who is competing for re-election, are all for the first time running for the first time, and they are not well-known.

Zhang Xinyu is the only person who challenged direct elections and was elected along the north of the New Territories. He is a member of the "Hong Kong New Direction" of the New Political Group.

The political group uses the "Hong Kong Drift" as its backbone, and earlier stated that it would actively enter the system through different channels.
