Waldram - At the most recent annual general meeting of the children and youth development association (KJFV) in the Waldram primary school, it became clear that the challenges have increased significantly in the past two years.

With numerous leisure, educational and advisory offers, the Children and Youth Association (KJFV) has been strengthening the personal development of young people since 1994.

KJFV managing director Fritz Meixner pointed out in his annual report that 85 employees currently share a total of 38 permanent positions. The business plan for the coming year provides for a further 7.63 positions. The expenses and income of the KJFV are expected to increase by 607,000 euros each. According to Meixner, the reasons are the third expansion of the kindergarten on Ludwig-Thoma-Straße, the assumption of all-day care at the Ickingen elementary school and the introduction of the large-scale allowance for employees. For comparison: In 2017 there were “only” 26.33 positions at the KJFV, which is currently supported by seven trainees and nine FSJ students. "We are a very labor-intensive company," stated Meixner. The city, which was represented at the annual meeting by Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner, wants to subsidize this commitment in the coming year with around 1.19 million euros.

Simon Friedt, who has been on the road as a mobile youth worker in the Wolfratshausen city area since April 2021, would be happy to welcome reinforcements. At the S-Bahn station in particular, he registered a growing propensity for violence among young people who were sometimes drunk, including girls. That is why advisory board member Christine Noisser suggested the employment of an additional female street worker. “The police and the security guard are always at least two on the road,” she gave an example. Managing Director Meixner promised to discuss this proposal again at the next board meeting and to discuss the financing of this position.

Friedt also noticed occasional violations of the law at the Waldram skate park next to the B11. The Roll Active Initiative (RAI), which currently has 50 members, was able to renovate the floor of the railways there thanks to a crowdfunding campaign. However, especially in the evening hours, young people gather around the square who illegally consume drugs and alcohol. “Unfortunately, we cannot control that,” regrets RAI chairman Maximilian Becker. Especially during the corona pandemic, there was a great response to the skate offer. “There are often up to 100 people at the place on weekends,” he reported.

After the extensive economic and status reports, the 18 members who appeared unanimously re-elected the KJFV board.

Chairman Reiner Berchtold will continue to be supported by the deputy chairmen Konstanze von Unold and Florian Wurm.

Kevin Sternkopf remains secretary.

Christine Noisser and city council youth officer Jennifer Layton are involved as assessors.
