The Syrian film, the short fiction film “My River, Sea,” directed by Mohanad Kalthoum and produced by the General Film Organization, won the Special Jury Prize at the conclusion of the 8th International Film and Sea Festival in Morocco.
The festival is organized by the Association of the International Festival of Cinema and the Sea in the province of Sidi Ifni and with the support of the Moroccan Film Center.
10 short films from Syria, Morocco, Bahrain, Mauritania, Belgium and the United Kingdom competed for prizes.
The film “My River Bahri” gets into a deep problem and raises urgent questions about the nature of neglected and far from light societies due to the dominance of major cities and the marginalization that these societies have been subjected to in the shadow of the war on Syria, through a love story that takes place in an exceptional place and far from the attention of the curious, where it revolves The events between a young man and a young woman united by intense love and who meet one night on the seashore on a night that will change their fate forever.
It is noteworthy that the film, written by Samer Mohamed Ismail, starring Abdel Moneim Amayri, Suhair Saleh, Maryam Ali, the child Sandy South, Director of Photography, Nael Turkmani, Editing and Graphics, Noureddine Al Kurdi, Music Khaled Rizk, Production Director, Moghith Deeb. Duraid Rahal, Lighting Director, Baraa Zuraiq Port Director, Mohamad Khattab Decorator, Muhannad Beeda Photographer, Claquette Hala Laham, Makeup by Sarah Al Arand.
It is noteworthy that the film won the Best Director award at the Al Noor Film Festival in Morocco in 2019.
